Our fees are charged on an hourly or time basis or a fixed fee basis. Fixed fees apply to most of the matters we undertake for our clients, depending on the matter. Our non fixed fee matters are charged as set out below. Also included are our disbursements and other information about the basis of our charges. Please note that all the fees quoted below are inclusive of GST:

Where a matter is charged on an hourly basis an estimate (where possible) of the fees and disbursements will be provided prior to any work commencing.

|Special Arrangement Matters
We undertake Pro Bono work for matters approved of by the Director in advance. Some matters are dealt with on a “no win no fee” basis. Those matters will be identified to the client prior to commencement of work.
|1. Fee Structure|
Time spent by solicitors and support staff is accurately recorded and translated into fees by applying the respective charge-out rate. Our current charge-out rates are detailed above.
Disbursements (out of pocket expenses) are charged to the client. Disbursements include searches and enquiries, photocopying, facsimile, postal and courier charges, barristers’ and agents’ fees etc.
|1.3 Initial Consultation
We charge a fee for any initial consultation of $233.00 inclusive of GST which is payable on the day of attendance.
|2. Billing Arrangements|
|2.1 Progressive Billing
In those matters that are charged on a time basis we will establish prior to commencement of the matter how the matter will be billed which may be monthly, quarterly or on finalisation of the matter. In any event a fixed fee will be quoted prior to commencement of the work based on the hourly rate and that fixed fee will be charged for the matter. A fixed fee may apply to the various stages of the matter.

In transactional matters our accounts will be submitted on completion of the matter.
|2.3 Payments on account of disbursements
Upon receiving instructions we will request payment on account of costs and disbursements depending on the type of matter it is but the figure is usually $1,000.00.
